Lightroom Basics #1: Importing + Previews

I’ve had quite a few people reach out to me in recent months asking about Lightroom. I do most of my editing (okay, pretty much all) in Lightroom because it is SO much faster than opening up each individual image in Photoshop to edit. So I am working on a multi-video tutorial series explaining the process, from start to finish, of how I use Lightroom for a wedding or a portrait shoot.

In this video, I discuss:

– How I organize my photos prior to importing
– What Catalogs are and how I use them
– How to import photos
– What previews are, including SMART PREVIEWS, and how I use them

I also reference my Dropbox account, which I use to back up my Lightroom catalogs online. If you don’t have a Dropbox account yet, you should get one because it’s immensely helpful (and not just for photography stuff)! And if you use my signup link, you’ll get an extra 500mb of storage for free! Winner winner!

As always, if you have questions, leave them in the comments! More videos to come!
